Our Editorial Process

At Alzheimer’s Daily, we rely on credible, distinguished, and peer-reviewed sources, particularly when referencing scientific and medical journals. Our editors meticulously assess each source for potential bias, substantial conflicts of interest, accuracy, and any shortcomings in the research.

Citations for all sources are required, either by providing a named attribution or a link to the original source material.

We generally do not accept anonymous sources; however, exceptions might be granted on an individual basis, taking into account the sensitive topics we address.

Information provided during interviews by sources is considered on the record, unless the source requests otherwise. If such a request is made, Alzheimer’s Daily will respect the source’s confidentiality and will not disclose the information.

We always adhere to press embargoes, and any information obtained under an embargo will not be published or distributed before the specified date and time. Disclosing embargoed information to advertising or business associates is strictly prohibited.

In instances of unfavorable coverage, Alzheimer’s Daily strives to offer sources a chance to respond. Nevertheless, if a source fails to reply within 24 hours, our editors may proceed with publication.

To preserve editorial autonomy and impartiality, non-editorial personnel are generally not allowed to review articles in their entirety before publication. On a case-by-case basis, and at the discretion of our editors, quotes from named sources may be reviewed for accuracy and clarity. Moreover, depending on the subject matter, certain sections of an article may require review by external sources to guarantee scientific precision.
